John A. Kearns Sr.

John A. Kearns, Sr. age 69, of Alliance, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born April 21, 1950, in East Liverpool, Ohio, to Carl and Sarah (Jonson) Kearns.

John attended The Alliance Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include his wife, Sherry Kearns of Alliance, whom he married July 11, 2011; daughters, Melina (Bruce) Gilbert of Mentor, and Heather (Roy) Durr of Wampum, Pennsylvania, son, John Kearns, Jr. of Rogers, daughters, Erica (Watson) Kaurich of Beloit and Melissa (John) Anderson of Lisbon; fifteen grandchildren and  eighteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Carl Kearns of Elyria, William Kearns of Yuva, California, Shirley Brewer and Rose Halligan, both of Lisbon, Jaunita Faulk of Struthers and Sue Watson of Rogers and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Iva Mae Lefeber, Alice Horner and Thelma Wells; and grandson, Gary Davis.

John was a longtime resident of Rogers, Ohio and briefly stayed at Altercare of Alliance, prior to returning to his home in Alliance. His family would like to extend a special thank you for the care they provided him.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Glen Davidson officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m., Monday, April 29th at the funeral home.
