Adolph A. Andrews, age 72, of Alliance, passed away at 12:30 a.m. Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Aultman Hospital after a long illness.
He was born April 26, 1938 in Piney Fork, Ohio to Joseph Sr. and Olantha (Graves) Andrews.
Adolph attended Alliance Schools and was a Jehovah Witness of the Kingdom Hall, Alliance East Congregation.
Adolph retired as a Pickler from Alliance Midwest Tubular, after thirty years of service; and served for thirteen years, during the Vietnam Era in the U. S. Army, with the 82 Airborne.
Survivors include his wife, Linda R. (Dozier), whom he married Nov. 22, 1980; children, Melodie (Jeffrey) Hancox, of Alliance, Jeffrey Andrews of Alliance, Jonette Dozier of Sharon, PA, Alisha (Chezaray) Boykins of Canton, and Brian Andrews of Alliance; grandchildren, Heather, Rinada, Brennace, Kyce, Gerisse, Saimar, Devin, Kylen, Ashley, and Lexus; great-grandchildren, Karin, Nathan, and Elyse; and siblings, Joseph Jr. (Betty) Andrews of Seat Pleasant, MD, Geraldine Harrington of Alliance, Corrine Jackson of Columbus, GA, Rita Winters of Alliance, Brenda (Andrew) Reid of Ft. Wayne, IN, and Dennis (Vanessa) Andrews of Alliance.
Adolph was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Alberta Godwin, Beatrice James, Milton Andrews, Gilbert Andrews, Gordon Andrews, Carol Anderson, and Willavene Williams.
Services will be held at Noon Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Al Ludt officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to the service.
