Agnes Y. Young, age 80 of Alliance, died at 6:29 p.m. June 23, 2005 at Aultman Hospital.
She was born February 8, 1925 in Cambria, Wyoming to Alexander Chesar and Agnes (Elek) Chesar and lived in Alliance most of her life.
She graduated from Alliance High School in 1943 and from the former Canton Business College in 1945. Mrs. Young worked as a Secretary for the late Attorney Evan Morris Sr. and as a Secretary for Alliance Manufacturing for five years and at Morgan Engineering for more than 29 years.
She was a member of the Lexington Ruritans, the local Emergency Planning Commission, Stark County Board of Health, Stark Regional Planning Commission, Intergovernmental Review Commission, NorthEast Four County Organization (NEFCO), Secretary of the Republican Club, Secretary of the Tri County 5 Citizen Band Radio Club, and member of the Alliance Chamber of Commerce.
She is survived by her son, Raymond Young of Paducah, Kentucky, and five grandchildren and four great- grandchildren.
Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles E. Young, whom she married May 29, 1946, and who died March 27, 1991, one son Daniel R. Young, and one sister Marie Heath.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Sunday. Interment will be at Deerfield Cemetery.
