A. Jeannette Garey

A. Jeannette (Wiley) Garey, age 90 of Sebring, Ohio passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020 at The Gables of Green. She was born January 21, 1930 in Cambridge, Ohio to P.J. and Claire (True) Wiley.

Jeannette graduated as valedictorian from Byesville High School, Byesville, Ohio. She was a legal secretary and secretary to the Head of Volunteers at Alliance Community Hospital (1970’s). She was also a very talented seamstress and entertained in all the homes and churches she shared with her husband of 67 years Rev. Doran A. Garey. Jeannette had a lifelong love of music.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers; and her husband.

Survivors include daughter, Frederica Elizabeth “Beth” (William) Barone; son, Jay A. (Tammie) Garey; sister, Frederica “Fritz” Wolfe; sister-in-law, Anne Wiley Mahaffey; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at Union Avenue United Methodist Church with Rev. Coralee Cox officiating. Memorial contributions can be made in Jeannette’s name to the East Ohio Conference United Methodist Women, Kelly Corb (8800 Cleveland Ave NW, North Canton, Ohio 44720) or the church of the donor’s choice.
