Alberta Gayle (Sayre) Holsinger, age 79, of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord at 12:35 a.m. Oct. 27, 2007 at Crandall Medical Center.
She was born May 7, 1928 in East Liverpool, Ohio to Harold and Anna (Eutsey) Sayre. A 1946 graduate of Minerva High School, Mrs. Holsinger was a member of Christ United Methodist Church for more than forty years.
She enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include children, Peggy (Robert) Keen of Warsaw, Oh, Janet (John) Fisher of Alliance, and David (Jesse) Holsinger of Land O' Lakes, Fla., sisters, Patty Willison of Canton, and Shirley Bennet of Lofton, Fla, brother, Ronald Sayre of Robertsville, Oh, nine grandchildren, Jessica, Melissa, Laura, Barbara, Jennifer, Jason, Jeremy, Meaghan and Andrew, and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carl L. Holsinger, whom she married May 4, 1948, and who died Nov. 19, 2003, brothers, James Sayre and Harold Sayre, and sister, Winnie Hollar.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. John Ferris of Christ United Methodist Church officiating. Calling hours will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Interfaith Child Care Center, 470 E. Broadway, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
