Alexander L. "Pops" Mitchell, age 78, of Alliance, died at 10:20 a.m. April 16, 2008 at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born December 15, 1929 in Lorain, Ohio to Thomas D. and Jean (Lesley) Mitchell.
Mr. Mitchell worked for Goodwill Industries.
He is survived by three daughters, Crystal (Jack) Eagan of Alliance, Judy Goudy, of Newark, Ohio, and Barbara (Johnny) Hunt of Monks Corner, SC, adopted son and daughter-in-law, Henry and Brenda Richmond of Alliance; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and lifelong friend, Judith Rogers of Alliance.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, William and Edwin, and two grandchildren, Joseph Collmar and Hayden Decker.
Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Peters. Friends may call two hours prior to the service. Burial will be on Monday at the Alliance City Cemetery.
