Alfred E. 'Al' Oesch, age 76, of Alliance, died at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center.
He was born August 7, 1931 in Alliance to Charles Wilbur and Ruth Elizabeth (Markham) Oesch and was a lifelong resident.
A graduate of Alliance High School, Al attended Dade Jr. College, and served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Oesch was a self-employed Marketer for Sohio/BP Oil, and member of the Alliance Elks Club.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy A. (Siddons) Oesch, whom he married Jan. 9, 1957; children, Jane (Dwayne) Holbrook of Alliance, James (Shalmers) Oesch of Alliance, Jill Oesch of Alliance, Chip (Jody) Oesch of Rootstown, and Julie (Chris) Hale of Alliance; grandchildren, Matt, Kaitlin, Meghan, Alex, Will, Andrew, Adam and Ethan; brother John (Marie) Oesch of Glencarbon, Illinois; and sister Marilyn (Bill) Henry of Pflugerville, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Wilbur.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Frank Gross Jr. of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
