Alfred Thomas Johnson, age 82, of Alliance, died at 4:40 a.m. Saturday, November 24, 2012, at his home, with his family by his side.
He was born January 2, 1930, in Salineville, Ohio, to Forrest and Evelyn (Brown) Johnson and was a graduate of Sebring High School and was a U.S. Army veteran.
Tom was employed by General Tire as an Engineer until his retirement. He was a member of the Alliance Friends Church and enjoyed watching sports and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Sally (Eaton) Johnson whom he married May 9, 1954; sons, Greg (Cyndie) Johnson of Sidney Ohio, Steve Johnson of Hilliard Ohio, and Jeff Johnson of Washington D.C.; daughter, Lisa (Kenny) Smith of Alliance; eight grandchildren, Erin and Molly Johnson, Abby and Matthew Johnson, Jeremy and Corey Noll, and Kelby and Jeffrey Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Elizabeth Johnson; two sisters, Dorothy Forrester and Shirley Lee; and one brother, Earl Johnson.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Edward L. Mitchell officiating. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday evening and one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery in Sebring, Ohio.
