Alice Caroline Schlott, age 96, of Alliance, died at her home on Tuesday, August 28, 2007.
She was born Sept. 18, 1910 in Minerva, Ohio to Jacob Lewton and Agnes (Dennis) Howlett, and lived in Alliance since 1929.
Mrs. Schlott graduated in 1925 from a one room school house, Enterprise. In 1929, she graduated from Augusta High School, and in 1932, graduated from Alliance City Hospital School of Nursing.
She worked both as a private duty nurse and office nurse for 35 years in the office of Dr. M.A. Schlott.
Mrs. Schlott was a member of Union Avenue United Methodist Church since 1934. She was a former member of Nurses Alumnae of Alliance City Hospital, Ohio Nurses Association District OH33, Alliance Community Hospital Auxiliary, Esther Chapter #120 Order of Eastern Star, McKinley Shrine #54 Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, the Alliance YWCA, Civil Air Patrol, and the All Ohio Chapter Ninety-Nines International Organization of Women Pilots, as she earned her Pilots License for a Cessna 170.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dr. McKinley Alfred Schlott, whom she married March 30, 1933, and who died in 1970.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Denny Hazen officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to service. Interment will be at Union Cemetery in Louisville.
