Alice Madden nee Haug, was born February 2, 1923, and died April 22, 2015 at McCrea Manor.
She was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, and lived most of her life in Alliance.
Alice graduated from West Technical High School in Cleveland.
She worked as a secretary at the George Worthington Company where she met her first husband, Irvin Brandel. They moved to Alliance in 1946. She worked for many years as the secretary at Washington Elementary School and later as secretary to the Assistant Superintendent of the Marlington School District.
She loved dancing, especially the polka, Big Band music, Cleveland Indians and traveling. She adored her family and her cat, Christopher. She was a treasured mother, grandmother, great-grandmother neighbor and friend.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Irvin W. Brandel Jr. and Joseph J. Madden Jr. and her daughter, Susan A. Odell.
Survivors include her son, Irv Brandel; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A heartfelt gratitude is extended to Tammy and Terry for their loving care of Alice at McCrea Manor.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, April 26, 2015, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with a brief service to follow with Rev. Jonathan Dodson, Chaplain of Alliance Community Hospital, officiating.
