Alice R. Martin age 89 of Alliance died at 7:10 p.m. December 13, 2003 at Alliance Community Hospital.
She was born September 16, 1914 in Derry, Pennsylvania to Harry and Agnes (Jones) Forsha, and lived the majority of her life in the Alliance area.
A graduate of Alliance High School, Mrs. Martin did office work and sold tickets for an area theater as well as working as a housekeeper for Dr. Weaver.
She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. Many people will remember her homemade Christmas cookies. Mrs. Martin also enjoyed cross-stitching.
Survivors included two sons Jeffrey (Pat) Martin of Alliance, and Brian (Sandra) Martin of Alliance, one granddaughter Amanda McMullen of Abingdon, Virginia, and one great-grandson Connor Scott McMullen.
Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Tremlett Lowe Martin, whom she married Sept. 16, 1939, and who died Sept. 2, 1986, and 3 sisters Vernie Dickton, Edna Gamble, and Eva Bodo.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday December 17, 2003 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Hugh Hookway officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Fairmount Memorial Park.
