Alvada Floretta (Lutton) Cully, age 92, of Alliance died at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 15, 2009 at Altercare of Alliance.
She was born December 1, 1916 in Alliance to Walter Clarence and Iva Mary (Allen) Lutton.
Alvada was a member of the First Baptist Church and was employed at Minerva Waxed Paper, Timken Roller Bearing, Taylor Craft and during World War II she was Rosie the Riveter.
She enjoyed playing cards, belonged to the TG & Beechwood Card Club and especially loved being with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, Gerald (Connie) Cully of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; daughter, Linda (Frederick) McGavern of Alliance; son, Douglas (Kimberly) Cully of Alliance; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Shawn, Abbey and Lauren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George M. Cully whom she married December 1, 1946 and who died January 5, 1995; her sister, Lois Bowman; and two brothers, Walter and Ronald Lutton.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Sue DeHoff officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
