Alvin Hantz, age 93, of Alliance, passed away at 10:50 a.m., Monday, October 21, 2013, at his home.
He was born February 12, 1920, in Alliance, to Luther and Mary (Martz) Hantz.
A graduate of Alliance High School, Alvin retired from United-Smith-McLeod Dental Laboratories in Cleveland.
Alvin was a veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II. He enjoyed gardening and watching sports.
Survivors include his close friends, Kathy Seabolt, Chris Shearrow, Edward Shearrow and Christina Veneri, all of Alliance.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Elinore Liebhardt and Ester Hantz; and brothers, Herbert, Edger and Elwood Hantz.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 25, 2013, at Mainwaring Chapel at Alliance City Cemetery with Pastor Randy Payne of the Alliance Baptist Temple officiating. Interment will follow.
