Alvin J. Michael, age 92, of Alliance died at 5:01 a.m. Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at Alliance Community Hospital
He was born October 11, 1917 in Atwater Township, Ohio to Arthur and Emma (Kaufman) Michael and has been an Alliance resident since 1928.
Alvin graduated from Atwater High School and was employed for 36 years as a truck driver for Paul Kintz Construction until his retirement in 1982.
He was of the Methodist faith and a former Moose Lodge member.
Survivors include his wife, Angeline (Pasquale) Michael whom he married in 1938; daughters, Barbara Zimpelman of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Lorene (Gene) Cook of Estero, Florida; four grandchildren; Marcie (Kirk) Rackow, David (Dee Dee) Zimpelman, Angela (Matthew) Marshall and Julie Cook; three great-grandchildren, Daniel Zimpelman and Noah and Avery Marshall; and brother, John Michael of Alliance.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lucille Brown; and two brothers, Edward and George.
A memorial service will be held at 11a.m. Monday, May 17, 2010 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Martin of Christ United Methodist Church officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
