Anna Mae Ballard, age 68, passed away peacefully in her home with loved ones at her side, on Wednesday, June 12, 2013, after a long illness.
She was born May 1, 1945, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to the late Robert and Rosie Lee Long.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Anthony D. (Connie) Long of Hampton, Va., Kenneth B. (Vickie) Pascley of Alliance; four daughters, Lora Mallard of Montgomery, AL; Gwendolyn Pascley of Alliance, Tanya Pascley of Citronelle, AL and Latia Ballard of Alliance; two brothers, John D. (Betty) Brown of Pritchard AL; Rev. Michael (Marilyn) Long of Canton; two sisters, Alice (Rev. Henry) Kirksey and Barbara (Roy) Jones of Alliance; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Anna is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rev. Abraham Ballard; and two brothers, Thomas D. Brown and Robert Long, Jr.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Second Baptist Church with Rev. Donna Kinnard officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
