Anna F. Cowen, age 88, of Alliance, died at 10:45 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2012, at Aultman Hospital.
She was born November 22, 1923, in Madison, Tennessee, to Oscar and Mamie Cline.
A graduate of Peabody College, Anna taught high school in Florida. She was a member of the Union Avenue United Methodist Church, where she participated in church activities and she enjoyed crafts, sewing and traveling.
Anna is survived by her son, R. Clifton Cowen of Alliance; granddaughter, Samantha (Todd) Kornely of Little Torch Key, Fla.; nieces, Virginia Curran of Hartville, and Carol Ann Cowen of Akron, OH; and several other nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Robert V. Cowen, who died December 2, 1984; and son, Donald B. Cowen, who died January 29, 2008.
Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2012, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. David Andrews, Minister of Pastoral Care at Union Avenue United Methodist Church officiating. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
