Anna J. Kurtz

On the evening of November 28, 2015, Anna Jean Kurtz, 72, passed away after a two year battle with cancer, surrounded by family.
Anna Jean, better known as Jean, was born March 29, 1943, in Toronto, Ohio. She was the thirteenth of fourteen children.
She was known by her children as the "witch doctor" for her passion for alternative and natural medical treatments.
She was an active member of First Church of God in Alliance where she was able to faithfully serve God and the community. She retired from PCC in Minerva, after two decades of service. She spent her retirement reading and sharing quality time with family and friends.
Jean is preceded in death by the love of her life, Robert M. Kurtz; parents, Anna B. and William O. Montgomery; and siblings, Mabel I. Evans, Charles H. Montgomery, Virgil O. Montgomery, Ruth R. Carson, Leonard E. Montgomery, Homer Montgomery, and William G. Montgomery.
She is survived by her children, Robert, Kenyon (Leslie), and Eric (Dawn) Kurtz; step-children, Linda Reem and Larry Kurtz; grandchildren, Britney (Brian) Webster, Rachel (Reid) Martin, Amber (Jake) Reed, Jacob, Joshua, Monica, Kassandra, Brianna, and Luke Kurtz; great-grandchildren, Kendra, Myla, and Riley Reed; and siblings, Grace E. Carrico, Olive Nolan, Wilford F. Montgomery, Mary Lou Sigman, Alfred E. Montgomery, and Darlene J. Durch.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, December 3, 2015, at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Murphy officiating.
