Anna Osco, beloved mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt, passed away at 11:15 p.m. on Friday, March 5, 2010, at her home in Alliance, at the age of 96.
She was born December 10, 1913 in Atwater, Ohio (Randolph Township), to John and Barbara (Kanza) Zofchak, immigrants from Slovakia. Anna was a lifelong resident of the Akron and Alliance area, and a member of St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church in Akron.
She will be deeply missed by her husband of 56 years, Dan Osco of Alliance, her daughter, Barbara A. Lunsford-Zimmer of Alliance; her beloved grandchildren and their spouses, Anne (Zimmer) and Jeff Graffice of Alliance; Jennifer (Zimmer) and Brad Croce of Lakewood; Erick and Alyson Zimmer of Jamison, Pennsylvania; Tiffany (Zimmer) and Nick Stanek of Alliance; Angela (Zimmer) and Todd Leonhardt of Cincinnati, and her 12 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents, John and Barbara (Kanza) Zofchak; her first husband, James Harry Lunsford; brother, Andy Zofchak; sister Julia (Zofchak) Karras; and special nieces, Anna (Karras) Nervo and Julia "Jay" (Karras) Goldsmith.
Services celebrating Anna's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church, 847 Crouse St., Akron, Ohio 44306. Father Robert Stash will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Akron.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 12, 2010, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home.
Anna was a devoted pet owner and animal lover, and memorial contributions may be made to the Stark County Humane Society, 5100 Peach St., PO Box 7077, Louisville, Ohio 44641.
