Anna Pastor, age 91 of Alliance, died at 11:30 p.m. May 9, 2006 at Canterbury Villa in Alliance. She was born Aug. 29, 1914 in Youngstown, Ohio to Mary (Volos) and Nicholas Zhuck and lived in the Alliance area since 1998. Mrs. Pastor received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from YSU, formerly known as Youngstown College, and worked as a substitute teacher during the depression years. Mrs. Pastor also spent many years tutoring the handicapped in their homes for the Youngstown Public Schools. She later worked for Moggs as a secretary. Until retiring she worked at May Company/Kaufmann's as a salesclerk at the Southern Park Mall in Youngstown. She was a member of SS. Cyril and Methodius Church in Youngstown. Anna enjoyed the fellowship at the Alliance Senior Citizen Center during the bingo games. Survivors include her sister Elizabeth Baron of Austintown; nephews David (Jackie) Shattuck of Alliance, Stephen Barnes of Seattle, Washington and Daniel (Robin) Barnes of Moscow, Idaho; nieces Jennie Ann Sharp of Newton Falls and Rebecca Barnes of Moscow, Idaho; great nieces and nephews Christine, Amy and D.J. Shattuck, Katherine and Stephanie Pool, Amanda and Katherine Sharp, Ryan, Melissa, Justin, Nichalas and Samuel Barnes. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father Stephen Baron, and her husband, Emil J. Pastor, whom she married Sept. 13, 1950, and who died March 17, 1960; sisters Jenny Zhuck, Mary Rapovy, Helen Baron, Katherine Barnes and Irene Shattuck; brother, William Zhuck and nephew James Barnes. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Fr. Donald Feicht of St. Joseph Catholic Church officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Calvery Cemetery in Youngstown. Memorial Contributions may be made to SS.
