Anna Popovich, age 94, of Alliance, passed away, at 12:20 p.m. Monday January 30, 2012, at Crandall Medical Center in Sebring.
Anna was born February 12, 1917, in Bobtown, Pennsylvania, to Charles and Mary (Kratky) Svoboda.
She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alliance, where she ushered for more than 20 years. She enjoyed bowling, cooking, baking and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her son, Charles (Fran) Popovich of Wilbraham, Ma.; sister, Helen Barany of Alliance; daughter-in-law, Rosemary Popovich of Alliance; three grandchildren, Greg Popovich of Wilbraham Ma., Melissa Trainer of Waynesburg, and Tanya Popovich of Las Vegas, Nv.; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Popovich, who died December 7, 1976; son, Joseph R. Popovich; four brothers, Frank, John, Joseph and Carli Svoboda; and five sisters, Mary Onesco, Agnas Corbi, Roberta Haines, Irene Hollar and Jean Vida.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, February 3, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Matthew Mankowski officiating. Interment will be at St Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
