Annetta L. Kirk Arris died unexpectedly in her home on Thursday, December 17, 2015, and entered into the kingdom of her Lord. She was born April 6, 1931 in Rockton, PA to Guy H. Kirk Sr. and Bessie (McDonald) Kirk. She was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Alliance, serving as a children's Sunday School Teacher, member of the Voyagers Class, and assisting with Women of the Church. Annetta enjoyed playing bridge with her dear friends at the Alliance Woman's Club, where she was an active member. She devoted her life to caring for and supporting her husband, children, and grandchildren.
She leaves behind her two daughters; BessAnn (Darrell) Sommers of North Canton and Sara J. (Andrew) Smith of Columbus; three grandchildren Ross W. Sommers, Logan J. Sommers and Alina C. Smith, two great-grandchildren, Caleb R. Sommers and Adalyn J. Sommers; and many nieces and nephews.
Annetta was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 53 years, Elton Ross Arris, whom she married on August 8, 1953 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, and who died May 22, 2007; her sister, Regis A. Bee; her brother, Guy H. Kirk Jr.; and her granddaughter-in-law, Christina J. Sommers.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 21, 2015 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Timothy Muse officiating, and Rev. Bob Lavery to offer the eulogy. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the church. Private family interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
