Anthony W. "Tony" Fedor Sr., age 98, of Alliance, died at 1:12 a.m. Thursday, June 16, 2011, at McCrea Manor.
He was born June 7, 1913, in Donora, Pennsylvania, to Frank and Marja (Kotlinski) Fedor.
Tony was employed at Fairmount Provision, Machine Steel Castings, and STD, before retiring in 1978 from Morgan's Engineering as a millwright for 27 years.
He was a former member of Pine Lake Christian Church and attended Alliance First Friends Church. He managed hot stove baseball teams and men's fastpitch softball teams. He is a member of the Bowling Hall of Fame. He served in the 3C's, where he was an amateur boxer, and he enjoyed golfing. Tony was a very active member of the Alliance Area Senior Center.
Tony is survived by his sons, Terry Fedor of Alliance and Anthony W. "Tony" Jr. (Nancy) Fedor of Bloomingdale, Ill.; daughters Judy House of Alliance and Sharon (William) Bedell of Fayetteville, NY; 13 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and one sister, Pauline Cichon of Chicago, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Inez (Whitacre) Fedor, whom he married August 29, 1936, and who died November 30, 2007; two brothers, Stanley and Frank, Jr; sisters, Nellie Zumbar, Mary Brown, Josephine Graf and Frances Ritchie; daughter, Mary Jo Stutes and two great grandsons.
Services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2011, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Friends may call from 3-5 p.m. Saturday.
