Anthony D. Zuppe

March 10, 1932 — April 29, 2016

Anthony D. Zuppe, age 84, of Alliance, passed away at 9:15 p.m., Friday, April 29, 2016, at his home.
Anthony was born March 10, 1932, in Midland, Pennsylvania, to Anthony J. and Anna (Suffoletta) Zuppe. He came to Alliance in 1971.
He was a graduate of Midland High School, Mount Union College in 1957 and Kent State University in 1971. An educator, he had been a teacher and football coach for Norwalk High School for 11 years, Lake County Career Center as a disadvantaged Youth Coordinator for 5 years, and had been with the Stark County Office as a Vocational Coordinator for 5 years, and had been the Director of Career Education at R.G. Drage Center for 12 years. He had also worked for Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home in Alliance for 10 years.
Tony served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was also a member of numerous educational associations.
Besides his wife, the former M. Yonna Poland, whom he married July 6, 1957, Anthony is survived by his three sons, Anthony J. (Lorin) Zuppe of Canton, John (Brenda) Zuppe of Alliance and Samuel (Christina Helman) Zuppe of Louisville; grandchildren, Anthony (Krista) Zuppe, Hannah, Jenna, Kevin, Bryce and Brianna Zuppe, Colton and Jonathan Helman; great-grandson, Ethan; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Dan and Sam Zuppe and a sister, Anna Marie Libitore.
Friends may call from 6-8pm Wednesday May 4, 2016 at the Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home in Alliance. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Noon on Thursday May 5, 2016 at Regina Coeli Catholic Church with Father Joseph Ruggieri officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests material contributions take the form of donations to Absolute Hospice, 339 East Maple Street, Suite 115, North Canton, Ohio 44720.
