Arlene Miriam Gempler, age 78 of Alliance, died at her home at 12:40 p.m. Tuesday February 15, 2005.
She was born August 2, 1926 in Alliance, Ohio to Raymond and Lillian (Swallen) Stuckey.
Mrs. Gempler graduated in 1944 from Alliance High School and attended Ohio Wesleyan University.
She was a member of First Immanuel United Church of Christ. She was also a member of the Alliance Community Hospital Auxiliary, volunteered as a Pink Lady, and served on the board of review. She was a member of the Alliance Woman's Club and past member of its board of directors.
Mrs. Gempler was also a member of Eastern Star Chapter #296, Mount Union Woman's Club, Pan Hellenic, Alliance YWCA, Alliance Country Club, Coterie, and past member of Sorosis.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Gempler, whom she married Sept. 6, 1947; one son, Eric Gempler of Zephyerhill, Florida; one daughter, Amy (Joe) Novogratz of Victoria, Minnesota; one grandson, Kyle Gempler of Zephyerhill, Fla.; and one brother, Arthur (JoAnne) Stuckey of Temple Terrace, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Neal Mann and Rev. Jack Dawson officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to the service. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
