Arlyis A. Popa, age 64, of Alliance, passed away at 9:31 a.m., Monday, April 14, 2014, at Alliance Community Hospital.
She was born September 14, 1949, in Alliance, Ohio, to Arnold and Francis (Murphy) Trummer.
Arlyis attended Alliance City Schools and was formerly employed as a private duty home health aide and STNA at Canterbury Villa. She attended First Assembly of God.
She was a loving, sweet person whose greatest pleasure was taking care of everyone and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Don Alan Popa of Delaware, OH, Shelli (Larry) Grove II, and Matthew Brian Popa, both of Alliance; grandchildren, Zachary Popa, Hayden Grove and Brooklyn Grove; brother, William Leonard (Jan) Trummer of Sebring; and sisters-in-law, Joanne (Bill) DiDonato and Deanna (Dave) Weyand, both of Alliance.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, John Popa Jr., whom she married July 24, 1964 and who died January 3, 2012; brother, Clifford Trummer; and a brother-in-law, Steve Popa.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Grow officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m.
