Arthur C. "Bud" Baith, age 69, of Alliance, passed away at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2011, with his loving family at his side at the Cleveland Clinic.
He was born December 3, 1941, in Alliance, Ohio to Arthur E. and Helen M. (Kommel) Baith and had resided in Alliance all his life.
Bud was a 1959 graduate of Alliance High School and had retired from McDermott Technologies, formerly Babcock and Wilcox Research Company, as a Steam System Technician.
He was a United States Army Veteran, having served in Germany. Bud enjoyed woodworking and boating, loved family get-togethers and always had a joke to share with his family and friends. He was an awesome father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who had a great love for his family; who will miss him always but carry many memories of the good times.
Survivors include his son, Brett (Shari) Baith of Columbus; daughter, Amy Maendel (Brent) Loy of Alliance; grandchildren, Devin, Taylor and Courtney Baith, all of Columbus, Kayla and Kyle Maendel of Alliance; brother, Richard Baith of Alliance; sisters, Lois Laubert of Alliance, Kay (Jim) McKinley of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Deborah Baith of Limaville; and many nieces, nephews and other family members and friends who will miss him, his humor, and his caring ways.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, his wife, Janice M. (Sotcan) Baith, whom he married June 15, 1963, and who died January 25, 2002; son, Brad Baith, and sister, Carol D. Evans.
The family wishes to thank the Cleveland Clinic and its caring, accommodating staff of professionals for their care of Bud. It was greatly appreciated by all.
A Memorial Service will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Michaels of Grace Community Church officiating. Friends may call from 3-5 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cleveland Clinic, 9500 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, Ohio 44195, or the charity of the donor's choice.
