Ava K. Grosh, age 85, of Alliance was called home by the Lord at 9:27 a.m. Monday, April 27, 2009 at her home.
Ava and her twin sister were born to Karl C. and Blanche M. (Shively) Kennedy, in their home in Akron, Ohio on August 18, 1923.
Ava was a graduate of Akron East High School and attended Akron University and Malone College. She was church organist and pianist and loved to teach Sunday school classes and assist her husband in his ministry.
Survivors include her husband, Rev. R. Lee Grosh of Alliance, whom she married, May 13, 1944; son, Ronald M. (Ellyn) Grosh of Raleigh, NC, and daughter, Barbara L. Grosh of Hendersonville, NC; two granddaughters, Jennifer and Jessica; three great-grandchildren, Isabella, Fernando and Helena; twin sister, Eva F. Copeland of Stow, Ohio; and sister, Marceil G. Cloonan of Pinelas Park, FLA.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 1, 2009 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Potter officiating. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Rose Hill Burial Park.
