Barbara Joyce Cochran, age 76, of Alliance, passed away at 12:05 a.m. Wednesday, February, 23, 2011, at Alliance Community Hospital.
She was born January 21, 1935, in Logan County, Kentucky to James Russell and Geneva (Holloway) Harris.
Barbara was a 1953 graduate of Alliance High School and retired in 1997 after working in Circulation at the Alliance Review. She also had worked at the Market House in Alliance.
A member of Union Avenue United Methodist Church, Barbara was a member of the Alliance Bowlers Association for more than 30 years.
Survivors include her children, Kerry (Chris) Cochran of Alliance, Scott (Patti) Cochran of Alliance, Sherry (James) Hogan of Dallas, PA, Robin (Ray) Wade of Sebring, Shawn (Lennifel) Cochran of Canal Fulton, and Heather Cochran of Canton; fifteen grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Terri (Larry) Snode of Alliance, and two brothers, Delvin (Bonny) Harris of Beloit, and David (Deb) Harris of SC.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Ted E. Cochran whom she married May 1, 1954, and who died November 29, 2006; and one sister, Donna Joan Feltner.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Union Avenue United Methodist Church with Rev. Rebecca Innerst officiating. Friends may call from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service at the church. Interment will be at Mt. Union Cemetery.
