Barbara A. Katich, age 73, of Minerva, died at 4:05 p.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at University Hospitals Case Medical Center.
She was born March 17, 1938, in Alliance, Ohio, the daughter of Andy Czikra and Elizabeth (Williams) Czikra.
Barbara was a graduate of Alliance High School and taught art at various locations.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and enjoyed arts and crafts. She was a very generous person who especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Teresa (Ronald) Daugherty of Waynesburg, Robert (Sharon) Katich, III of North Carolina and Melody Katich of Minerva; eight grandchildren, Taylor, Devin, Andrea, Ron, Jason, Nikita, Joe and Ron; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Darlene Howell of Alliance.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Robert Beagle.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Matt Mankowski officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
