Barbara A. Lunsford-Zimmer, age 64, of Alliance, passed away at 11:57 p.m., Monday, September 1, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center.
She was born November 15, 1949, the daughter of James Harry Lunsford and Anna (Zofchak) Lunsford-Osco.
Barb attended Immaculate Conception grade school, graduated from Southeast High School, earned her nursing degree from the University of the State of New York and received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Mount Union College.
She retired after working as a registered nurse.
She was a member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church and loved singing in the choir. Barb was a huge Mount Union football fan. Above all, she loved her family beyond measure and spent her life committed to being a positive influence in their lives.
She will be loved and missed by her family including her children, Anne (Jeff) Graffice of Alliance, Jennifer (Brad) Croce of Lakewood, Erick (Alyson) Zimmer of Jamison, Pennsylvania, Tiffany (Nick) Stanek of Alliance and Angela (Todd) Leonhardt of Cincinnati; grandchildren; Lauren and Layne; Gabriella, Cole and Cameron; Ericka, Olivia, Laila and Kyra; Landon, Alyssa and Camden; and Benjamin and Maria.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, September 5, 2014, at Regina Coeli Catholic Church with Fr. Patrick Manning officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, September 4, 2014, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, 100 E. Waterloo Rd., Akron, OH 44319.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the St. Thomas Aquinas Scholarship Fund 2121 Reno Drive, Louisville, OH 44641.
