Barbara Dawn Ossler, age 84, of Alliance, passed away at 6:22 p.m., Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at Alliance Community Hospital.
She was born October 23, 1928, in Alliance, to F. Donald and Wilma I. (Rhoads) Stanley and was a lifetime Alliance resident.
Barbara was a 1946 graduate of Alliance High School and a 1949 graduate of Alliance City Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed as a nurse with Alliance City Hospital for 43 years and retired in 1992.
She was a member of the Vine Street United Methodist Church, and a member of the YWCA, Saxon Club, and the Mount Union Women's Club. She was also a former member of the Ohio State Nursing Association and former president of the Alliance City Hospital Alumni.
Her real joys in her life were her children and grandchildren. She loved antiquing, shopping, family gatherings and Tuesday lunches with the girls.
Survivors include her children, Steven (Cathy) Ossler and Jan Ossler, both of Alliance; grandchildren, Sarah (fiancé, John Wagner) Ossler and Rachel Ossler; sister, La Rue (Robert) Valentine of Ashland; sister-in-law and best friend Phyllis (Bill) Stanley Biggs of Alliance; other "special" friends, Zonia Miller and Anna Marie Haiss; and many nieces and nephews.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack P. Ossler whom she married March 17, 1950 and who died May 2, 1996; brother, Donald Stanley; infant nephew, Donald Stanley and "special" friend, Marge Egan.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 1, 2013, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. David Bloor officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
