Beatrice A. Johnson, age 89 of Homeworth, died at 8:25 p.m. Sunday, April 9, 2006 at Alliance Community Hospital.
She was born July 5, 1916 in Homeworth, Ohio to Clayton L. and Esther (Barnett) Hoffman and was a lifelong area resident.
A graduate of the former Goshen High School, Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker and Dairy Farmer with her husband, and enjoyed gardening.
She was an active life member of the Reading Church of the Brethren, where she was a Deaconess and member of the CBWF.
Mrs. Johnson was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include four daughters, Norma (Terry) Blickensderfer of Homeworth, Janet (Bruce) Ruggles of Marcellus, New York, Marilyn (Howard) McConnell of Beloit, and Deborah (Howard) Krug of Homeworth; one son, Walter Lee Johnson of Homeworth; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson; one brother, Donald (Marjorie) Hoffman of Winona, Ohio, one brother and sister-in-law, Wade (Barbara) Johnson of Louisville, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Walter L. Johnson, whom she married Sept. 5, 1935, and who died Aug. 4, 1982.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Reading Church of the Brethren with Pastor Larry Bradley officiating. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park. Memorial Contributions may be made to Alliance Visiting Nurses Hospice Association, 885 S. Sawburg Rd. Alliance, Ohio 44601.
