Ben V. Frustos, age 76, of Canton, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, March 28th at his residence surrounded by his wife and family following a short illness.
He was born Oct. 4, 1930 to the late Nellie (Sheldone) and Ben E. Frustos of Alliance. He graduated from Alliance High School in 1948 and was enrolled at Mt. Union College. He actively served his country during the Korean Conflict as a member of the United States Army before completing his degree at Mt. Union in 1955. That same year he began a 41 year career in sales with Babcock and Wilcox/Alliance Tube retiring as District Sales Manager in 1996.
He was an active member of St. Peters Roman Catholic Church in Canton serving as a Lector and teaching and administering the parish program for engaged couples. He was also a life member of Alliance Elk's Lodge #467 and enjoyed reading, golf, fishing and spending time in the company of his granddaughters.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Marilyn (Thomas), whom he married on Sept. 10, 1955; a son, Ben (Debbie) Frustos Jr. of Alliance; sister, Mary Jean Reale of Pickerington, OH and Corrine Densmore of Longwood, Fl; granddaughters, Ally and Cory Frustos of Alliance, and Addie (Ryan) Peterson of Sebring; great-grandchildren Zane and Sydney Peterson also of Sebring and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two infant children in 1957 and 1962 respectively.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Canton with Monsignor John C. Finnigan officiating. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home and one half hour prior to the service at the church. An Elks service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
