Benjamin A. Chacon, age 37, of Gilbert, Arizona, formerly of Alliance, passed away Monday, March 14, 2016, at his home.
He was born March 1, 1979, in Canton, Ohio, to Sheila M. (Styer) Fisk.
A 1997 graduate of Alliance High School, Benjamin attended Youngstown State. He had been employed with recruiting retention in the Army National Guard and was a Sergeant First Class with the Arizona National Guard and had served 19 years on active duty. Ben completed two tours in Iraq where he was awarded the Bronze Star and a Purple Heart recipient.
He enjoyed spending time at the gym, bowling, riding his Harley Davidson and was an avid Cleveland Browns fan. He also enjoyed recruiting men and women into the military. He was a Wounded Warrior Project supporter and had been on tour with the NASCAR National Guard Team.
Survivors include his mother, Sheila Fisk; sister, Angelica Chacon; brother, Dustin (Courtney) Brown; all of Alliance; God parents, Donald and Laura Whitman; two half-brothers, Tony (Katie) Chacon of Maynard, Massachusetts and Drew Chacon of North Canton; three nephews, Dominick Chacon, Cory Hicks, Christion Hicks; and several aunts and an uncle.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2016, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Nicholas A. Lindsay of the Four Square Gospel Church officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 24 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
