Benson F. Springer

Benson F. Springer, age 97, of Alliance, passed away at 12:20 p.m., Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at Danbury Senior Living of Alliance.
He was born July 9, 1920, in Alliance, Ohio, to Frank and Violet Springer and has been an Alliance resident since 1956.
Mr. Springer was a graduate of Alliance High School and Wingfoot College and employed as an Engineering Administrator at Goodyear Aero Space.
He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, a Lexington Ruritan member and Mason. He also served his country in the United States Army for three years having served during World War II.
Survivors include his sons, Lee (Paula) Springer and Marc Springer, both of Alliance; and grandchildren, Jameson, Marc, Eric and Melissa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Francis (Hall) Springer, whom he married February 14, 1944 and who died January 26, 2005.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2018, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Martin officiating. Friends may call from 12 to 1 p.m., prior to the service. A Masonic Service will be held at 1 p.m. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
