Bernard A. Blubaugh age 97, formerly of S. Freedom Ave., Alliance died at Altercare of Alliance at 1 p.m. Thursday June 12, 2003.
He was born September 30, 1905 in Alliance to Charles and Emma (Guenther) Blubaugh, and was a lifelong resident.
He attended the former St. Joseph Elementary School, and graduated in 1924 from Alliance High School. He worked as a draftsman for Morgan Engineering and Electric Furnace Company in Salem, retiring in 1972.
Mr. Blubaugh was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, were he served as an usher for many years. He enjoyed playing baseball for many years for Morgan Engineering, and was an avid bowler and sports fan.
Survivors include one son Gerald R. (Cheryl) Blubaugh of Alliance, three grandchildren Brian Gallina, Donna Patterson and Deanna Craig, nine great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lillian (Moser) Blubaugh, whom he married June 1, 1939, and who died Oct. 18, 1996, one infant son Kenneth Eugene Blubaugh, five sisters Martha Ellen Culp, Laura Isabel Blume, Elizabeth "Betty" Parrish, Mary Anastacia Hewitt, Bertha Agnes Arner, three brothers Walter Ambrose Blubaugh, Albert Andrew "Bill" Blubaugh, William Henry Blubaugh, along with three stillborn children.
Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
