Bernice V. "Bea" or "Deetze" Barbarossa, age 84, of Alliance passed away at 7:45 a.m., Friday, July 3, 2015, at Alliance Community Hospital. She was born April 5, 1931, in Akron, Ohio to Joseph and Bernice (Hill) Johnson. Bernice had worked at the former HW Industries in Kent, Jeanette's and Big Ed's Pizza. She attended First Christian Science Church in Canton, and was a member of the Mother Church, Christian Science Church in Boston. "Bea", or "Deetze", depending on how you knew her, loved music, playing the piano, and was an avid crossword puzzle player. She loved animals and enjoyed riding horses in her youth. "Deetze" especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Emelio "Butch" Barbarossa, whom she married Nov. 7, 1983; children, Steve E. (Denise) Ramey, Bonnie M. (Dan) Stroup, Phillip M. (Laury) Ramey, and Kathy R. Ramey; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, James D. "Jimmy" Ramey, two sisters, and one brother. Services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday July 8, 2015 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. Wednesday.
