Bessie E. (Keller) Beans, age 96, of Alliance, passed away at 1:23 p.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at Sterling House of Alliance.
She was born February 28, 1913 in Randolph to Frederick M. and Stella M. (Dibble) Keller and resided most of her life in Atwater, with the past eight years at Sterling House of Alliance.
She was a graduate of Randolph High School.
Bessie was a member of the Atwater United Methodist Church and a former member of the Atwater Pythian Sisters.
Bessie is survived by her children, Raymond (Amy) Beans of Rogers, Arkansas; Barbara (Ted) Pokabla of Jupiter, Florida, Ilene (Gene) Hackney of Alliance, and Diane Jones, of Alliance; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harlowe St. Clair Beans whom she married October 27, 1932 and who died July 5, 1979; her son, Charles Frederick Beans, who died March 11 1941; two brothers, Chester H. Keller and Oscar L. Keller; three sisters, Mable L. Wiley, Florena E. Myers, and Esther E. Kline.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 28, 2009 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Jonathan Truax of Science Hill Community Church officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Atwater Cemetery.
