Betty Cartwright

Betty I. Cartwright, age 88, of Alliance, passed away at 5:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Community Care.
She was born August 23, 1928, in Alliance to Merle and Matilda Jane
Simmons
Betty was an Alliance High School graduate and had been employed as a receptionist for Dr. Lukez.
She loved playing cards with her good friend Irene, going to Mountaineer and spending time on the front porch with the neighbors.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda K. (Roger) Lyons and Jill C. (Bob) Mull both of Alliance; son, Bruce (Sue) Cartwright of Westville, Indiana: 10 grandchildren, Michael (Jackie) Lyons, Jennifer (Larry) Hyland, Mark (Mindy) Lyons, Ryan (Tina) Cartwright, Kate (Michael) Claudio, Heath (Julia) Cartwright, Grant (Tiffany) Cartwright, Jared (Jaime) Mull, Tyler Mull and Jillian Mull and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents: her husband whom she married April 20, 1946 , and who died September 1, 2001 and brother, William Simmons.
Services will be held at Cassaday-Turkle- Christian Funeral Home at 11 a.m., Monday, March 6, 2017 with Rev. Josh Smith officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held at Fairmount Memorial Park.
