Betty J. Johnston

Betty J. Johnston, age 90, passed away at 4 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2016, at Crandall Medical Center.
She was born July 22, 1926, in Alliance to Chet and Olive (Greenwalt) Armitage.
Betty was a 1944 graduate of Alliance High School where she was also a cheerleader. She worked at Alliance Manufacturing and Sterns & Manns.
She attended First Friends Church and was a member of the Town & Country Garden Club and also enjoyed knitting.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews; and her namesake, great-niece, Bette Jean Marsili.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Loyd Johnston; sisters, Pauline Miller and Tillie Barber; and brother, Lewis Armitage.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 27, 2016, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44512.
