Betty Jones, age 83 of Howard Ohio, died at Ohio Eastern Star Nursing Home at 11 p.m. July 29, 2004.
She was born May 20, 1921 in Sebring, Ohio to Frank and Marie (Moran) Buehler and lived in the Alliance area until 2000, when she moved to Apple Valley.
Mrs. Jones attended Sebring High School and was the owner of Down on the Farm Restaurant in Deerfield for 32 years. She also served as the Township Clerk for Deerfield Township from 1982-1995, when she retired.
She was a member of First Immanuel United Church of Christ and the Alliance Chapter of Eastern Star.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her son Jerry Jones of Howard, Ohio; sister Dorothy (Dave) Rarick of Alliance; brother Elmer Buehler of Alliance; several nieces and nephews; good friends Dennis Sigler of Barnesville, Ohio; and Charlie and Charlotte Sigler of Frostburg, Maryland; and her faithful canine companion, Max.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Jack Jones, whom she married February 17, 1945, and who died February 10, 1999.
Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Neil Mann officiating. Friends may call from 1-3 p.m. Sunday. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ohio Eastern Star Home 1451 Gambier Road, Mt. Vernon, Ohio 43050 or Hospice of Knox County 302 E. High St., Mt. Vernon, Ohio 43050.
