Betty Jane McKenney

Betty Jane McKenney, age 84, of Alliance, passed away March 13, 2015, at her home, following a long illness.
She was born January 28, 1931, in Lisbon, Ohio, to Lewis and Loretta (Thompson) Hawkins and resided most of her life in the Alliance area.
A certified nurse's assistant for 20 years, she retired in 1997. She was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Beloit and enjoyed nursing, crocheting and crafting.
Survivors include her daughters, Brenda Dawson of AZ, Lisa McCray of OH, Yvonne McKenney of OH and Dollie (Gary) Bishop of OH; sons, Rodney (Karen) McKenney of OH and Shane (Patricia) McKenney AZ; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; eight brothers; and five sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother; one great-grandson; and daughters, Sue Ann and Bonnie.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday March 19, 2015 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor James White officiating. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday. Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson's or Alzheimer's Research.
