Betty Lou McPherson

Betty Lou McPherson, age 80 of Ashland, Ohio and formerly of Alliance, passed away at her home on Friday December 15, 2017.
She was born July 11, 1937 in Alliance, Ohio to Harry and Faye Rose (Hively) Hubbs.
Betty attended Alliance High School and formerly attended First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ in Alliance.
In Ashland, she was a bell ringer for the Salvation Army, in addition to working in their food pantry, thrift store and Kroc Center.
In Alliance, she had been employed at the former Lucas Nursing Home and worked in other businesses in Dallas, Texas.
Betty enjoyed taking pictures, doing puzzles, helping her neighbors, decorating her yard, and volunteering.
Survivors include her son, Wesley Walters Jr., of Ashland, Ohio; sisters, Betty Jean of Indiana, Ethel Mae of Springfield, Ohio, and Shirley McPherson, of Alliance; brothers, Harry P. (Judy) Hubbs of Fremont, Ohio, and Howard L. (Sharon) Byers of Alliance; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons Scott and Jim Walters; brother, Ronald E. Hubbs; step-brother, Elmer Hively; step-mother, Thelma Hubbs; and step-father, Howard Byers Sr.
Services will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home at 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 20, 2017 with Sue Dehoff officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
