Betty Lou Timpe, age 70, of Alliance, died at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at Altercare of Alliance after a longtime illness with cancer.
Betty was born January 14, 1937 in Alliance to George W. and Velma (Hawkins) Barnes and was a lifelong resident. Betty graduated from Alliance High School in 1955 and worked for Alliance VNA Caring Hands. She was a life member of the Alliance Elks Lodge Ladies Auxiliary #467.
She is survived by her three sons, Chris (Susie) Timpe of Alliance and grandsons Jon Timpe of Palatka, Florida and Ryan Timpe of Alliance, Craig (Kathy) Timpe and granddaughter Hailey Timpe all of Apopka, Florida and Brian (Clare) Timpe and granddaughter Jennifer Timpe all of Panama City, FL; brother, William (Marion) Barnes; sister, Mary Ellen (George) Gaddis, sister in law Susan Timpe, friend Ernie Castina all of Alliance and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Ronald Lee Timpe whom she married Sept. 9, 1956 and who passed away March 4, 2006.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor David Hohlbaugh of Marlboro Assembly of God officiating. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday with an Alliance Elks Lodge Ladies Auxiliary Service to be held at 6:30 p.m. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alliance Visiting Nurse and Hospice Association, 885 S. Sawburg Ste. 106, Alliance, OH 44601. Arrangements are by Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, Alliance Ohio.
