Blanche L. Oyster, age 87, of Alliance, passed away at 1:25 p.m., Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Alliance Community Hospital.
She was born June 11, 1923, in Alliance to Emmett and Ethel (Stevens) Allcorn.
Blanche was a 1942 graduate of Alliance High School. She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church, the Democratic Party and a longtime volunteer at Alliance Community Hospital.
She is survived by her brother, Robert Allcorn of Burnsville, Minn.; stepson, Ralph E. Oyster of Beloit; stepdaughter, Donna L. Hoyle of Beloit; stepdaughter-in-law Shirley R. Oyster of Youngstown; six stepgrandchildren; 11 stepgreat-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph W Oyster; two brothers, Emmett Jr. and Ray E Allcorn; three sisters, Dorothy J. White, Eileen Sams, and Frances J. Allcorn; an infant sister; and half-brother Lawrence "Red" (Margaret) Allison.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at the Mainwaring Chapel at Alliance City Cemetery with Rev. David Hostetler officiating. Interment will follow at Alliance City Cemetery.
