Blanche Helen “Cookie” Neely, age 80, of Alliance, passed away at 9:05 p.m., Saturday, February 8, 2020, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born January 12, 1940, in Alliance, Ohio to Joseph and Blanche (Waskivich) Hagge.
Cookie was a graduate of Alliance High School and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Kathleen Susan (Monty) Hoopes of Uniontown; son, Ronald Lloyd Jr. (Luann) Neely of Kinston, North Carolina; daughter, Amy Lynn (Lars) Vigen of Denmark; son, James Charles (Ginger) Neely of Canton; eight grandchildren, Megan, Mallory, Taylor, Helena, Anders, Robyn, Hannah and Erik; four great-granddaughters, Elaina, Kaylee, Evelyn and Avery; three sisters, Patty (Don) Buck, Joann (Richard) Ramser and Mary Catherine (David) DeBee, all of Alliance; brother, John (Cindy) Catich of Alliance; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Cookie was preceded in death by her loving stepfather, Pete Catich; husband, Ronald Neely whom she married June 8, 1957 and who died April 2, 2015; and a brother, James Hagge.
Cookie will be remembered by family and friends as a most wonderful loving woman. She was the center of her family, and the best thing for her was to be surrounded by her loved ones. Children were her whole heart and nothing made her smile more. She loved her garden and used many hours planting and taking care of her pretty flowers.
Being outside in the sunshine was a great enjoyment for her. She was a true friend to many people. She was so strong at heart and was always there to listen and reassure with her lovely smile. She was simply completely beautiful on the inside and out.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, February 13, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with The Very Rev. Canon Matthew Mankowski and Fr. Robert Ramser concelebrating.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Interment will be at Sebring Grandview Cemetery.
