Bob and Vera Gay Gantz

A memorial service will take place at 3:30 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2017 at Bolton United Methodist Church for Robert and Vera Gantz of Alliance.
Robert V. Gantz died December 25, 2016 at Park Village Health Care in Dover, Ohio. He was born May 22, 1926 in Alliance, Ohio to Emmett H. and Ruth N. Williams Gantz. His wife, Vera G. Gantz later died January 19, 2017 at Park Village Health Care. She was born in Alliance, Ohio February 23, 1926 to Robert C. and Elsie C. Lane McMinn. They were both lifelong area residents and both 1944 graduates of Alliance High School. They were married May 15, 1949.
Mr. Gantz had worked as a carpenter after serving in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a long-time member of Bolton United Methodist Church; a former member of American Legion Post No. 166 and V.F.W. Post No. 1036. Mrs. Gantz had worked at McCaskey's and Taylorcraft in Alliance and had been a long-time member of the Alliance Baptist Temple. She had belonged to the Crochet Club and they had both belonged to "The North-end Gang". They were loving christian parents, grandparents and great-grandparents.
They are survived by their two sons, William (Debra) Gantz of Avon Lake, Ohio and Bruce (Danette) Gantz of New Philadelphia, Ohio; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Mr Gantz leaves a sister, Marilyn (Bob) Marty of Alliance.
Besides their parents, they are preceeded in death by a son, David W. Gantz; a grandson, Graham White; Mr. Gantz's brothers, Larry and E. Duane; Mrs. Gantz's sisters, her twin, Mona McMinn and Beth McMinn Bard and her brother, Robert McMinn.
Interment will be held at Alliance City Cemetery prior to the service at the church.
