Bonnie Runk, age 61 of New Hope, Pennsylvania, died at 11:10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 7, 2005 at Somerset Medical Center from cancer.
She was born May 4, 1944 at her family's home near New Alexander, Ohio to Elwin and Hazel (Haas) Hawk Sr., and lived in Sebring from 1972 to 2000.
A graduate of United High School, Bonnie worked at Mount Union College from 1979 to 2000 as Secretary to Vice-President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College. She was Director of Operation for POS Innovation in Doylestown, Pennsylvania from 2001 - 2005.
She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in North Georgetown and Family of God Lutheran Church in Buckingham, Pennsylvania.
Survivors include her husband, David Runk, whom she married May 8, 1965, two sons, Mark (Shana) Runk and their children Damian, Josh, Matthew, and Sarah of Pittsburg, Pa. Bryan (Stacey) Runk of Quakertown, Pa., daughter Julie (Bryan) Coffelt and their children, Kylie and Emily of New Hope, Pa., brothers and sisters (Bonnie was the 6th of 12 children);Wanda Pandin of Sebring, Jean (Donald) Schneider of North Georgetown, George "Jack" (Twylla) Hawk of New Alexander, Neal "Jim" Hawk of Dresden, Charles (Sue) Hawk of Minerva, Tom Hawk of East Rochester, Sam (Cindy) Hawk of New Alexander, Ted (Diane) Hawk of Alliance, and Ann (Dave) Merker of Minerva, and 35 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Elwin Hawk Jr., and one sister, Frances Woolf.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Wesley T. Runk, brother-in-law officiating. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Friday. Interment will be in Hawk/Sanor Cemetery.
