Bruce E. Collins, Sr, age 52, of Alliance died at his home, then pronounced dead at 6:02 a.m. Thursday, April 2, 2009 at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born March 22, 1957 in Alliance to Noah and Bernadine (Oliver) Collins. He attended Marlington High School and was a certified welder at Volcanic Heater in Alliance for 32 years.
Bruce was a member of the Beaver Street Church of Christ in Lisbon. He loved his family and his grandchildren.
Survivors include his parents of Alvin, Texas; his wife, Glenda M. (Myers) whom he married January 21, 1980 and who renewed their vows January 21, 1996; two sons, Bruce E. Collins Jr. and Justin L. Collins of Alliance; daughter, Angela M. Collins of Alliance; five grandchildren, Desirea, Dustin, Caleb, Jaccob and Shyan of Alliance; three brothers, Davy (Pat) Collins and Dale (Debbie) Collins of Alliance, and James Robert (Lucille) Collins of Alvin, Texas; a sister, Gloria Lane of Alliance; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 6, 2009 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Baltzer officiating. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Sunday. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
Memorial Contribution may be made to the donor's choice.
