Bruce Russell Raber

June 10, 1953 — June 10, 2007

Bruce Russell Raber, 54, went home to Heaven to be with God on Sunday, June 10th, 2007 at 12:20 a.m. at Alliance Community Hospital after a month long battle with cancer. He was born July 19, 1952 to Russell Stanley and Lela Mae (Wise) Raber.
A 1970 graduate of Louisville High School, Bruce realized early in life that his love and passion was in farming. He was co-owner of Raber Dairy Farms until his retirement in 2005. Bruce and his wife, Jan, started B & J Raber Farms grain hauling business in 2005. He loved motorcycle riding, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
He was a member of the Maximo Zion Church and attended the Science Hill Community Church the past 2-1/2 years. He was a member of Farm Bureau, AARP and provided the Game Reserve Association land for hunting purposes.
Bruce is survived by his best friend and the love of his life of many years, his wife, Janice Raber of the home; two daughters Tam of Louisville and Heidi of the home; his mother, Lela Mae Raber of Louisville; sisters Brenda and Hai Li of Columbus, Deb and Dave Hajba of Uniontown; brother Dwight and Julia Raber of Louisville; brother in-laws and sister in-laws Don and Jane Rininger of Dunnellon, Fla, Gary Rininger, Carol and Craig Datz and Jeanne Rininger-Didick of Alliance. Also surviving are his aunts and uncles, Shirley Heim of Canal Fulton, Ohio, Mert and Lillian Griffiths of Ashland, Ohio, Clyde and Grace Wise of Uniontown, Robert and Sandy Ramsey of Alliance, 16 nieces and nephews; 14 great-nieces and great-nephews and many cousins and friends.
Preceded in death by his father, Russell Stanley Raber in 1980; his maternal grandparents, Pearl Porter and Alton Wise; paternal grandparents Ernest and Elizabeth Raber.
Bruce will be greatly missed by his wife, his daughters, his family and many friends.
Calling hours will be Wednesday at the Science Hill Community Church from 1-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. A Celebration of Bruce Raber's Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, at the Science Hill Community Church with Pastor David Ashbrook and Pastor Jonathan Truax officiating.
